Baku, Azerbaijan

Every Crossroads server runs on our own hardware in Baku. This is what keeps it running.

Network

Two lines, one fails over to the other

A 1 Gbps primary line and a second line from a different provider. If one goes down, traffic moves to the other in about 30 seconds; we've tested it both ways.

Power

Battery backup

A UPS carries the servers through short power cuts. In a long outage it shuts them down cleanly before the battery runs out, instead of letting them lose power mid-write.

Isolation

Every server walled off

Each server has its own firewall and can't reach other customers' servers. Our own admin access needs a VPN and two-factor sign-in.

Hardware

Intel CPUs, NVMe storage

Servers run on 10th-generation Intel processors with local NVMe storage on ZFS, which checks every block it reads.

Monitoring

We hear about problems first

Power, temperature, memory and storage are checked every few minutes, and we get an email as soon as something goes wrong.

Your data stays in Azerbaijan

Your servers and what's on them never leave our hardware in Baku. We don't look at your data, except to keep the service running, when you ask us to help, or when the law requires it.
