How Crossroads works: accounts, servers, renewals, payments and the API.

Getting an account

Accounts are set up by us, not by a sign-up form. Tell us what you need and we'll agree the details and create your account. There are two kinds:

  • Prepaid: you keep a balance in AZN and each server is paid a term at a time from it.
  • Business: your servers run without terms and you get one invoice a month. We need your company's legal name, VÖEN and address.

Claude access

Crossroads works as a set of tools inside Claude. Once your account is ready, connect it with one click and ask in plain words: Claude checks what's free, quotes the price in AZN, creates the server when you agree, and later starts, stops, snapshots or renews it.

  • Claude only sees your own account and servers.
  • It shows the plan and the price first; nothing is charged until you agree.
  • Removing a server always needs your explicit confirmation.
  • You can also ask about your balance, your statement and your invoices.

Creating a server

Choose a plan (CR-1 to CR-8, GPU-4, GPU-8) or any size the calculator prices, a term (1 day, 7 days, 1 month, 90 days or 1 year), a hostname such as web-1, and your SSH public key. GPU servers, with a dedicated Quadro P1000, are available on request. Servers accept key logins only, never passwords. No key yet? Make one on your computer and send us, or Claude, the line it prints:

ssh-keygen -t ed25519
cat ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub

On a prepaid account your balance must cover the first term. The term starts when the server is ready; if setting it up fails, nothing is charged.

Every server runs Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with Docker, a firewall, fail2ban and automatic security updates, and has its own network firewall that keeps it apart from other customers' servers. GPU servers also come with NVIDIA's driver and the NVIDIA Container Toolkit.

Connecting to your server

You log in over SSH as ubuntu with the key you gave us. When your server is ready we set up the connection with you and send you the details.

Terms and renewals

  • Renewing: a day before a term ends, the server renews itself for the same term from your balance. You can switch that off, or change the term, for each server.
  • Reminders: we email 7 days and 1 day before, and say whether your balance covers the next term.
  • Locked prices: a server keeps the price it was created with, renewals included.
  • No gaps: each new term starts where the last one ended.

If a term runs out

  1. Grace: for 72 hours the server keeps running, and we email you.
  2. Stopped: then it's stopped; its disk and address are kept for 7 days.
  3. Removed: then it's removed for good, after a final backup.

Topping up before removal brings it back: with automatic renewal on, it renews as soon as the money arrives; otherwise renew it yourself, or ask us. The time it spent in grace or stopped is part of the new term.

Balance and payments

Pay by bank transfer; ask for a top-up invoice if you need a document to pay against. When the money arrives we add it to your balance and email a receipt, and servers waiting for money renew straight away. Every payment and charge is on your statement, with the balance after each one. Money left on your balance can be paid back, and we credit your balance when we owe you.

Business accounts and invoices

Early each month you get an invoice for every day each server existed in the month before, at its own rate, plus any monthly charges we agreed. It's payable by bank transfer within 14 days, with the invoice number as the reference. Invoices are PDFs in Azerbaijani and English, numbered CR-; top-up invoices are numbered PF-. An issued invoice is never edited: a mistake is cancelled with a credit note and a new invoice.

Power and snapshots

Start and stop your servers whenever you like; a stopped server keeps its resources, so it still costs the same. You can keep up to three snapshots of each server. Ask Claude, or ask us.

The API

Everything Claude does goes through the Crossroads REST API, and you can use it directly. Each request carries your API key in the X-API-Key header. A key is shown once, when it's made, so keep it somewhere safe; if it leaks, we revoke it and make you a new one.

GET /api/v1/ratesThe rate card
POST /api/v1/instancesCreate a server; GET lists yours
POST …/instances/{vmid}/startAlso /stop and /snapshot
GET /api/v1/billing/ledgerBalance and statement
GET /api/v1/invoicesYour invoices, each also as a PDF

API access opens together with Claude access; we send you the address with your key.

Email info@crossroads.az or use the contact form, with your server's hostname if it's about one.
